With the last day of the decade, it is only fitting to highlight the Consequence of Sound album of the decade: Lemonade by Beyoncé. Fiery, aggressive, embarrassed, hurting, reflective; these all describe her at one point (or many), throughout this album. The first ten minutes are raw, calling out her husband, Jay-Z, for any marital wrongdoings, and holding nothing back. But once this is out of her system, she transitions to some of her best work, namely "Formation" and "Freedom". Sounding nothing like her traditional self, she shatters any pre-conceived notions that we have of her, and lays it all out on the line in a new and powerful way.
