This is a personal reggae album, which is a fresh derivation from typical political revolution on reggae records. Janine Cunningham (AKA Jah9) is able to create a mix of pop-reggae fusion that is introspective, following her personal growth and experiences. You will hear many different sounds throughout the album, including African instruments, jazz, reggae, and even some blues. In the end, “Note To Self” is calming, imploring us to “Fly away” and “Escape and be free”.
