Delivering heartfelt pop with folky influences, Juke Ross makes us feel the emotion. Luckily, he includes six acoustic renditions of his songs on this album, and that is where the emotion shines through. “We all need someone to die for, to cry for,” he sings amid smooth falsetto transitions. While most of the album consists of love songs, they are not all directed at a person. He writes love songs to his current city (“Atlanta”) and city life in general (“Life in the City”). The 22 year-old from Guayana (in South America) moved to the U.S. to pursue music in 2017, and boy are we glad he did.
