Certain albums come along that make you feel less alone, heard and validated. On lovelytheband’s debut album “finding it hard to smile”, they write about the struggles of mental health, and all the emotions that come with anxiety and depression. On the opening track “pity party”, lead singer Mitchy Collins repeats the mantra, “please set me free, anxiety”, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. However, it is not all dark and gloomy, tracks like “coachella” and “walk from home” bring light to the album with an upbeat tempo. All in all, this album is honest, and real. Through discovering your personal truths and moving forward, there certainly is something to smile about.
